Beyond the climbing line.
Mount Poi gives the expedition its climbing objective. The journey around it gives the film its larger setting: northern Kenya, the people encountered along the way and the experience of arriving at a wall far from familiar climbing destinations.
The still and moving record.
Ted’s assignment combined principal expedition photography with additional video. Cedar Wright directed the film. The two forms of work sit alongside one another: a photographic account of the expedition and a documentary that follows its characters through the experience.
